State and Community Prevention Systems

More than ever, state and community agencies are expected to use data to guide their decisions and measure their success. CPRD has the tools, technology, training, and services to meet the needs of both large state departments and local community based agencies. We help organizations to effectively use data to better serve their clients.

Evaluation of the Illinois Substance Abuse Prevention System

CPRD provides evaluation and data management services that support the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Substance Abuse Prevention System (SAPP). CPRD partners with state policy makers, the statewide professional development contractor, and local prevention staff to gather, analyze, and use data to drive decisions.

Best Practices Institute

The Best Practices Institute (BPI) Leadership Program for Prevention Policy Makers is a unique program for government officials who are prevention policy makers. CPRD provides this yearlong experience in which participants learn together about evidence-based practices and policies and leadership dilemmas, and receive support and assistance on special projects that they conduct. The overarching goal of BPI is to increase participants' knowledge of best practices and systems thinking, and to create opportunities for continuous improvement and accountability.

Illinois Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant Evaluation

This goal of this federally funded project is to integrate a data-driven planning, implementation, and evaluation process into state- and community-level prevention initiatives. CPRD is conducting evaluations of how well the Strategic Prevention Framework works with existing state systems. CPRD is also conducting an evaluation of local community sites receiving "sub-recipient" grants.
