Engaging Youth for Positive Change Curriculum

What is Engaging Youth for Positive Change?

Engaging Youth for Positive Change(EYPC) empowers young people to act as advocates for positive community change by working with their local government to adopt prevention-related ordinances, such as those discouraging underage alcohol and tobacco use. Youth who participate in EYPC will:
...understand how local policy affects their lives
...experience their local government in action
...interact with community leaders
...gather and analyze their own local data
...engage the community in the advocacy effort

What do you get with the EYPC curriculum?

EYPC consists of a web-based training for facilitators, curriculum containing five EYPC modules, technical assistance, and evaluation services. Each of the five EYPC Modules focuses on teaching advocacy skills and gathering specific data through interaction with the community. Each module contributes to the final step, a youth-led presentation and discussion of the policy with community members and leaders.
