The Abstinence Education Program is a federally funded initiative administered by the Illinois Department of Human Services. There are approximately 40 grantees throughout the state that deliver in-school, after-school, parenting, and awareness building programs that promote abstinence from sexual activity, in an effort to reduce out-of-wedlock births. CPRD provides evaluation services to these grantees, including curriculum review and logic model development. CPRD also provides training to increase the ability of Abstinence Education Program staff to actively participate in evaluation and utilize findings for program improvement.
